Power flushing is used to clear sludge, debris and restricted circulation from a heating system, helping radiators heat more evenly and improving boiler performance.
The heating system layout is reviewed, including radiator locations, pipework routes, boiler type and any known circulation issues. Existing symptoms such as cold spots, noisy operation, slow heat-up or repeated faults are noted to guide the work.
The system is inspected for signs of sludge, corrosion, trapped air and poor flow. Radiators, valves, pump operation and controls are checked to identify restrictions and confirm whether power flushing is suitable for the installation.
Suitable access points are used to connect flushing equipment and isolate sections as required. Protective measures are applied around the work area, and the system is prepared for controlled circulation with cleaning solution where appropriate.
Water is circulated at controlled pressure through the heating circuit to dislodge and remove deposits from radiators, pipework and the boiler circuit. Each radiator is worked through individually where needed to clear internal build-up and restore flow.
After flushing, the system is refilled, vented and balanced as far as practical. Operation is checked for circulation, heat distribution, pump performance, control response and any remaining faults that may affect efficiency or safe operation.
The final condition of the heating system is reviewed, with any persistent issues such as failed valves, blocked components or boiler faults identified separately. Recommendations are provided where further repair, cleaning or system treatment may be required.
¶ Power Flushing
The heating system has been power flushed and checked for improved circulation and more even heat distribution.
