Radiator replacement restores heating performance by removing a faulty radiator and fitting a suitable new unit with system checks.
The radiator location, pipework arrangement, valve condition, and surrounding access are reviewed before work begins. Visible corrosion, leakage, trapped air, or uneven heat distribution are noted, together with any constraints affecting removal or replacement.
The radiator is inspected to confirm the fault or performance issue, including heat output, balancing, and the condition of valves and connections. The wider heating system is considered where relevant, including pressure, circulation, and signs of sludge or restricted flow.
The heating circuit is isolated as required and the radiator is made safe for removal. Pipework, valves, and fittings are prepared for the replacement unit, with attention given to alignment, sealing surfaces, and compatibility with the existing system layout.
The faulty radiator is removed and the replacement radiator is fitted in position. Connections are secured, valves are reinstated or renewed where necessary, and the unit is filled and brought back into service in line with the existing heating arrangement.
The radiator is checked for leaks, correct heat-up, and even temperature distribution across the unit. System pressure, circulation, and valve operation are reviewed, with any trapped air released and the heating performance confirmed under normal operating conditions.
